Leary has been a multi-season starter for the Wolfpack and threw for 3,433 yards and 35 touchdowns during the 2021 season. He entered the transfer portal on December 5, when the transfer portal opened and quickly became one of the more sought-after transfer quarterbacks. He was linked to Notre Dame, Kentucky, Auburn and South Carolina among others. Leary will be eligible immediately at Kentucky and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
