The NFL is making a big change regarding their media rules in 2022.

The NFL’s Annual League Meetings are taking place this week in Palm Beach, Fla. League changes have been agreed to and announced, such as a major rule change to overtime.

The NFL is also making a media-friendly change.

NFL public relations worker Brian McCarthy said Tuesday that the media will be allowed back in the locker room for the 2022 season.

The media wasn’t allowed in the locker room during the 2020 and 2021 seasons due to strict COVID-related protocol. Reporters generally are able to get better information and produce better stories when they have the opportunity to speak with multiple players. Under closed locker room circumstances, reporters could only speak with team members who were brought to a press conference.

The increased access is not only big for the media, but it should also be a positive for fans. Now the NBA needs to take notice.
